C.H.E.A. ‘07/’08 Subgroup Information:
Please prayerfully consider which group will best serve the needs of your family this year and which other selections will be your alternative choices. List these choices on your application and bring to enrollment night on June 12th or mail in with your payment for membership.
*Note for families with older children:
We will be coordinating activities for high school aged students at various times during the year. Many field trips will be open to our entire membership; check for age appropriate activities on our calendar in the members’ section of the website.

We will meet at Liberty Park but may rotate to others in the area. We require attendance to a minimum of one activity per month. It's also required that our members do their part by coordinating a field trip or a learning day or by stepping up into one of the roles of our group (i.e.: prayer/praise coordinator, field trip coordinator, outreach coordinator etc).

CASWELL SUBGROUP (The something or nothing subgroup!)
|
Age requirements: K – 12th grade
Maximum number of families: None
This is formally the low profile subgroup. This year it will have a twist. Since there might be some that would like the opportunity to do something, I will try to offer a fieldtrip or get together once a month if there is interest. There is no pressure or requirement to participate. There is no limit on families. Since my children are from 3yrs to 17yrs we will be open from k-12th. Also I will be trying to plan some highschool age gatherings for all of CHEA.

Maximum number of families: 15
FRIENDS is an active subgroup meeting 2 times a month. One Friday a month we will meet at the Ocala Regional Sportsplex (SW Ocala) for a time of fun, fellowship, and encouragement. We will gather a second time each month for a fieldtrip or activity. Everyone is needed to help organize and plan our fieldtrips and activities. Your suggestions to activities and fieldtrips are most welcome. A Mom's night out will be scheduled to allow for everyone's input. Start collecting your ideas now!
We strongly encourage your attendance at each event. The success of FRIENDS depends on every family doing their part and committing to gather together to bond our friendships and encourage one another.

NGUYEN/EILERMAN SUBGROUP (Florida Naturalists)
|
Age requirements: pre-K – 3rd grade (Pre-K children have limited access to CHEA activities. Please speak with a board member for clarification as needed.)
Maximum number of families: 10
We will meet twice a month – once for a field trip, and once for a follow up activity. The follow up activity might be a presentation of the child’s favorite part of a trip, making a lap book, or even building a birdhouse or compost bin.
Parents will be required to help organize one trip and one follow up activity.
This group requires a very high level of participation. Hopefully you will be able to attend all events.
We will be traveling once a month for the fieldtrips and we will meet once a month locally. The location has yet to be determined, but will be on the SE side of town.
This group will focus on nature in Florida. Some possible fieldtrips include Crystal River State Preserve for a ranger led program, Hogtown creek to dig/sift for fossils, Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge to observe the whooping crane migration and winter home, and a beach clean up project. There will also be an opportunity to participate in the Wings Over Florida Junior Birding program and Trail Walkers Program.
